I have a acurite with the outdoor temp probe thats what i put in the wiggler. i have a digital cooking temp probe i used to check the temp of the other one. i stuck the cooking probe in boiling water and ir read 212 and i stuck it in ice water and read 32 thats about as close as ya can get for digital

i then stuck the cooking gauge in a wiggler alongside the acurite and was dead even. the humidity i will check this evening its 2 parts salt and 1 part water? in a ziploc bag for 8 hours right. I will check it but fron when i hatched before filling the center trough with water brought the humidity up to around 70 but i stil need to check

The humidity is basically a 'paste' of salt and water, but you have to keep the hygrometer in the baggie (or whatever you use) for at least 8 hours. It should read 75%

Chris, that sounds okay, but just from time to time, recheck your instruments to be sure they are still okay. Anyway, I'll incubate some for you here and since you live pretty close, you can just pick them up from me.

Forgot to say that I have two of those Acurites, which are fairly accurate with the probe, but the unit on one reads about a degree off now and one of them is 10% low on humidity. But, as long as you know how much it's off, you can adjust your readings. I recalibrate all mine from time to time. Had a Flukers reptile one (digital) that went haywire and jumped all over the place, but I exchanged it and the current one is much better.

this one for cooking is made for prolonged exposure to heat its got a SS cable to the probe to be able to go in the oven to check the internal meat temp from the outside. when i pit it in the wiggler it kept a constant temp. im looking forword to those quail
