$25 for a button quail?

Depends slightly on the color. A really uncommon color might go for $20 each but I sell even whites and ivories $10 for adults. A common button quail color like red breasteds I wouldn't pay more than $5 unless they were really impressive birds with practically no inbreeding, no sign of aggression in the whole line, and more tame than usual. For $20 each you could buy an incubator and 2-4dozen eggs to hatch your own. Keep in mind if you don't have an incubator to hatch more it can be very hard to get a button to set eggs so your looking at a pet with about the lifespan of a hamster that you probably can't pet or handle.

Depending on the colors I can see big prices like that...if its really rare colors. But like wild colors, and cinnamon....thats rediculous.

I paid almost $30 for my first WILD pair
and $5 for like 5 eggs....

Maybe the quail do magic tricks! LOL

LOL the guy was really rude on the phone though...I've talked to him 3 times the 2nd time he want to trade 2 button quails for a PROVEN pair of cockatiels!!! I later sold them for alittle over $250 but that money was put toward my dog's vet bill.

Most definately wait. I wouldn't pay that for a button unless if it was GENETICALLY neon green and glow-in-the dark. Especially considering that you would have no idea how old they are. They could be at the end of their age and die in a month or two. Plus the fact that the guy is rude and is obviously a rip-off. I'm paying $2 per chick or $6/doz eggs. I personally wouldn't pay more than $5-$10 per adult bird ($10 would have to be something REALLY special). Honestly, your best bet would be to just order some button eggs in and get a bator going. Check around, you might find a cheap bator, or you can build one. I'd honestly go for AK's big button sales, or find someone on eggbid or ebay who is selling eggs in massive bulk. That will give you more room for error, and you might just need that extra wiggle room. If you get lucky and hatch out 50 buttons, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems selling the extras.

My goodness for that I'd send you tons of eggs to bad you don't have a bator. Really do not pay that for them. You can get 4week olds shipped to you for that in the spring from someone here you can trust.
