Sounds good, we will do that. In hindsight I should have found the beak first and watched for chewing but didn’t want to open that tiny area if blood vessels were red yet. I also wasn’t quite sure where the beak was, which hole! So, I will keep applying oil and will keep humidity higher in incubator to help prevent shrink wrapping. I think now I can safely say it was not in the correct position, the first pip was external and the second one was near air sac. So must have pipped prior being in position? Also, now can be 30-48 hours after external pip as it needs extra time to absorb the yolk. Thanks again, now crossing my fingers we will get through this and end up with a healthy chick. I was so worried we were going to lose it!It should get noisy when it is ready to get out of that egg. Unless it is too tired, but as long as it can breathe it will be fine - just keep an eye on the membrane as you may need to reapply some oil.
How is yours doing now?P.S.
Mine was shrink-wrapped
Now, the chick is moving and the inner membrane is tearing. Is this normal? I can see her hair, and as she is rotating I can no longer see her beak.It should get noisy when it is ready to get out of that egg. It is doing really good! Thanks for askingHow is yours doing now?
Super cute! Love the yellow chicks! Mine has started rotating and that inner lining is tearing. I still hear chewing so I hope the yolk gets fully absorbed before it works it’s way out of the shell. I’m applying oil like every 20 min to try to keep it intact but i think it is tearing as it turns. It is almost sounding like it wants to “zip.”
I will, it just had a big screech and pushed its head up through and it’s feet too. I can’t take a pic b/c I had it in a paper towel watching from the top. Now I am worried again.I really hope everything works out , post pics if it makes it

thank you! Still breathing and a good occasional stretch. Hopefully it was nearing its “time” to hatch since the vessels were dry and maybe enough yolk absorbed. I am going to leave upright in the cup in the event anything is still attached until he/she becomes more active. I don’t see any blood yet.
