I was just so excited yesterday when I went out to the coop!! I have a nice chicken coop with 10 laying boxes, and my adult hens have been laying in the boxes for some time now. I put a cute little round basket in the coop the other day just for fun and put a wooden egg in it. I have 2 hens that are right at 26 weeks old and was about to think we were not going to get any eggs from them. A few weeks ago their combs turned red, but felt like we were waiting an eternity. Well, went out to the coop yesterday and in the round basket was 3 eggs! One from an adult hen and 2 small ones from my little girls!!! A light green from the EE and a brown from the Red. They laid 2 more today!! 3 eggs, 2 days in a row!!
