27 week old cream legbar that is not laying yet.

Mine lays pale green, I too was hoping for blue. But since she is from hatchery I was kinda expecting green

Still a lovely egg! I'm not sure where trump came from. She just started to get a larger red comb and the back has somewhat flopped over. She is bottom hen so who knows when she will lay :/

I have the same problem with my approximately 28 week ameraucana. She is at the bottom of the pecking order out of our 4, but I isolate her for a few minutes when I am giving treats (meal worms, greek yogurt, etc) so she has a fair chance at getting some. She otherwise eats just fine and because they don't free range (took many hawks and ravens in our area to chance it) I know she hasn't laid anywhere else. I guess I will just play the waiting game...

Masonjar let us know when your ameracauna lays! I love seeing pics of eggs and the girls who have laid them. I would still love to find a pure ameracauna myself.
MN chcicken, did you also get your girl from a hatchery?

Sort of. I bought a rare bird education pack of eggs from My Pet Chicken, who said that the eggs are from a private breeder. She is just about the most beautiful CCL I've seen, totally to standard. Olive eggs are acceptable to breed standard as well, so it is what it is. They are actually really pretty eggs, so I am happy.

So I tried checking the pelvic points, but I'm not sure what I'm doing. I felt them and they were pointy on either side but not sure about the width thing.
