I found a local source for 28% wild game feed. They also have 20% protein layer pellets. Would the 28% be better for the meaties? I have them on the purina chick starter and they are almost 3 weeks. The price difference is $2 per 50lb bag. The 28% is $13.

Has anyone tried both ways?

Thanks!

Most folks just use the 18-22% broiler feed, as it has the correct amino levels for the CX. Save the 28% for starting turkeys, quail, and pheasants.

Dang - I just paid $18 for a 50lb bag of 28%. And here I thought we had good feed prices...

Yeah, its a locally milled feed which I was surprised to find in the city. I went ahead and just got Purina flock Raiser for the meaties and layers to share.
