28 Very Sick Peafowl at Feed Store!

They actually do get fresh water daily, that I know. The problem comes from the fact that they buy sick birds from people and put them straight into their flock, and of course they use the same rakes and shovels to clean all of the pens. I really wish I could go elsewhere, but they are the only ones within an hour drive that sell three of the feeds that I use.

That many in that small of area would have to have a vigilant person to keep it clean, I did not mean they never did it just that it would be hard to keep the droppings and food .out of it with that many feet.

True, there is no way to keep that small of a space clean enough for that many birds.

I'll go back on Thursday and see if I can talk to the owner, but I'm afraid he won't listen until they start to die and by then it will probably be too late for many of them. But hey, maybe I'm overreacting and they aren't that sick?

Does your state have an animal health commission? I am not talking about the SPCA or PETA .
These folks test and keep track of outbreak in poultry and livestock. like if you have a horse come up hot they will test and retest your entire herd as well as any equine that may be neighboring or have been exposed to the said horse.
Our state does it for free, course it is federally funded so they may be outa work right now
I talked to the State vet and he wasn't really concerned... My next course of action would be animal control.
