I have gotten a second chance from a very nice and understanding shipper.

( 6 BCM and 6 Speckled Sussex eggs from Bargain)
Once again she has sent me eggs that arrived here in fantastic shape.
I messed up the first hatching (had the humidity all messed up). So I have purchased a new thermometer/hygrometer, and scrubbed out the bater.
Tomorrow afternoon the new eggs will go in. fingers crossed I don't mess up this one.

So, anyone else just putting eggs in the bator this week?

I put my beautiful BO eggs from Green Family Farms in the bator last night. And some great Silkie/showgirl eggs from Missouri Chick under Big Buffy, Wednesday evening.

Big Buffy says they are wonderful eggs.

I have all kinds of high hopes!

I really think I am getting the incubator thing down. I hope.

Oh, and some Quail eggs coming tomorrow.

These have all got to be the last eggs of the summer, because I must go to my son's wedding in Wyoming, and I obviously cannot have them hatching while I am not here!

I am really taking care. I got new thermometers and hygrometers, cleaned out the bators, covered the floor(s) with shelf paper for their little feet.

I have five Guinea eggs in there from my own flock just as testers. If they are not fertile, nothing is!

Mine arrived today also. The first batch was developing great, but never hatched. So I know the humidity was all wrong. So I went out and purchased new equipment. Now I am prepared.
What kind are you hatching?

I had a bunch of broody hens, but of course when I want them, they are done, lol.

I have done well hatching my own eggs but never tried shipped eggs before, this was a first. Now I think I have the right equipment and info to do it right.
Good luck with yours!

Well, its day 19 here and I have two speckled sussex chicks, one ss egg pipped, and a BCM pipped.
Yay!

Go Chickies go!!!!!

I'm so happy for you. Please be sure to say hello to the babies for me!

Well, so far ( It is day 20) I have 4 speckled sussex chicks out and dry. One BCM chick out and dry. I have one sussex and one BCM that are out but not sure how they are doing. And a BCM that has pipped.
I had one BCM with a detached air cell and one was an oozie egg.
One sussex egg in the bator doing nothing.
All in all I think we are doing well. 5 out of 6 sussex eggs hatched.
And the BCM are still working.

I did well, except with the Showgirls. No Showgirls.

However, I got 13 baby Quail and 10 Buff Orpingtons, and so I am very happy. They are very cute and fluffy.
