2nd Time...and...I HAVE 11 CHICKS...Watch 'em Hatch!!!

Hey Grillmaster and fellow Day 17 hatcher. I am going to stop turning tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) and raise the humidity then.

It will be about 18.25 days and I will have the time to get it all set up properly and be home for the rest of the day to watch the humidity until it stabilizes.

LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!

The Day is 18!

I am going to take two of the dozen eggs and place them into my homemade incubator:

The others will remain in my LG. Again, I've added ventilation and will aim for a lower humidity (one that will allow us to see through the glass).

I am about to walk to Wal-Mart (that's me "goin' green") for another Acu-rite. Then it is off to the school to make the transition and to have a final turn before I Grillmaster33-proof the incubators.

I will NOT open the 'bator....I will NOT open the 'bator....

Alright. All is looking well in both incubators.
The humidity levels are between 65-70.
The temps are jumping a bit, but nothing too dangerous.

This HAS to work!
I am trying to prevent myself from making the long drive to the school to check on things. I will go to the gym...

Almost day 20.....yippee.

I have to go into the city tomorrow and will be gone ALL DAY. Maybe I'll come home to some action!

I just hit day 18, and am obsessing over the window. Can't seem to keep my humidity up. Anyone ever not sleep for 3 days straight, making sure enough water is in the bowl? I think that will be me. Just before I "sealed" the bator, I added a bigger bowl and a washcloth. So far humidity at 74. I check it every 5 minutes. At least I'm not tempted to open it, yet.

Thankfully, I have taped it good and closed.

Not to worry, scissors handy in case of emergency! Ok, off to check it again. No sleep tonight!!! Steph
