2x4 verses 2x2 posts

If you can give them alittle of everything. Rounds branches, 2x4 flat, I prefer 2x4 flat as it allows me to stick more nails up from the bottom. This way I get to see the chicken dance.

We can get as low as 19 in the winter. At night. And we do get snow. At least 3 times during the winter. Not like where you live. But definitely cold to me. So I think I’ll do them a favor and get them a wider roost.

It's really not cold enough for it to matter, so if you're fine with the current roosts, you can keep those. If it makes you feel better to switch them out, you can do that as well. The birds are more choosy about location of roosts instead of the exact shape of roost.
