3 1/2 month hen laid a broken egg

We just heard one of our hens making a strange noise. Went to check on her, and there was a broken egg, right underneath her. It seemed like she was still trying to push, like the other half was still in her. She is only 3 1/2 months old. I thought they didn't start until 6 months. Should I be concerned?

That is very strange, are you sure she layed the egg that was broken i mean some other chicken could have gone in the nest and layed an egg and then the 3 1/2 month old chicken accidently broke the egg when she went in the nest. I am no expert so i am not sure if you should be concerned or not, sorry...

Thank you. I will post there. We don't have any older hens, the 3 1/2 months are our oldest set, so I'm not sure. Thanks again for the link!
