hi guys,
I am new to Raising chickens and need some help guessing my silkies sex. I got two white silkies from my pet chicken. They are suppose to be girls but from what I read silkies are almost impossible to sex. They are both 3 1/2 months old.
Fancy, has comb that is pink. She/he is low in the pecking order and very skidish. When the other girls run off Fancy is always left standing there alone. He/she also seems to be okay standing alone for a few seconds before running to join the others.
Clementine still has a black comb. She is a tiny bit smaller then Fancy. Although much smaller then the Buff orpingtons and RIRs she holds her own and is closer to the top of the pecking order. Clementine actually picks on Fancy.
I suspect fancy is a roo with the pink Comb and being larger but the same time I thought Roos were usually more fearless and Fancy is a big wimp. Haha
Anyways, here are some pics. Let me know what y'all think.
