. We had a opossum get into our old coop night before last and hurt one of our hens (had a cut on her side).... We can't get the new one finished quick enough!! We have our injured hen separated from the rest and she seems to be doing ok. She is eating and drinking and the wound looks better today. So I am hoping she will be ok!

Sorry to hear about your girl. Glad that she is doing better. I'm sending good vibes your way that she makes a full recovery.

Thanks so much Kuntrygirl!! She seems to be recovering... she was walking a little bit this afternoon and she is still eating and drinking well. Her wound looks much better today... so I'm very hopeful

A little more progress!!.....

We finally finished most of the chicken wire. We ran it inside the welding wire fencing. It was pretty rough going for a while.... we are both all scratched up LOL. We still have to put a run of narrow wire on the front of the coop at the very top and a couple small places inside. I'm glad this part is finished!!! I actually went to the hardware store and purchased a pneumatic stapler for the remaining wire... I've hit both my thumbs with the hammer...they are so sore I can barely type!! No more hammering staples into chicken wire for me
