Help! I’ve given away any of the chicks I had with thick thighs / red combs and must larger than the others. But I’m so undecided with these. Are the Roo’s? Or hens

How do you tell?
On laced Wyandottes (or birds in general) the lacing is often a good clue. Females will be clearly laced while males will have splotchy patches (less clear laces) on their shoulders... see how it becomes kind of muddled on this boy...

With hatchery birds this is not always the best gauge since the quality of lacing can vary and be poor on females as well.

Also at your stated age... the size and color of comb and waddles are a great clue.

Last but MOST accurate (except in Seabright) once they have reached the age to produce gender feathers (not just color, which can often be another good clue in many breeds much younger).. Saddle feathers should be at least starting on most breeds by 14 weeks..

Many boys are already actively trying to mate by your stated age as well... though many are not. Behavior is often another great clue. In other words it's a combination of many things sometimes. :pop

I have 5 GWs an the one in top photo standing tall is not a pullet. Look at his wings pointing downward. All GWs have a rose comb male and female. The Cock will grow his faster wider an have more straight up definition then a hen. Tail feathers will begin to slope giving a pom pom look.Hens will stand up an stretch necks but will not walk straight up. These ones are 4 going on 5 months and they are hens.
