This might seem like a silly question, but is there any way I can text to see how far the WiFi goes before?
Thanks! That’s a good idea!!You can use your phone or a laptop to test the wifi strength inside the coop, it wouldn't be exact but can be a good estimate.
If you really care, test it in some harsh conditions, like when you have window closed and there is heavy rain outside - that's when the signals can get weak.
I’m just a little confused because in your first post about those cameras you said you can look back twenty four hours. Can you not?I've been using my Tapo cameras I linked here for months now. They are good -- but they don't record continuously and I hate that. But they were cheap - only 50 bucks - and they DO work, even with my wifi barely creeping out to the hen house in the pasture.
It's 200 feet away from my house, the hen house -- I know this because that is how long the 2 hoses are and it JUST reaches![]()
Oh thanks! I considered that oneI know the Blink cam I've got inside my run can get a bit tetchy. It's a tad over 100 feet, maybe 110 feet from the router. Also it's decidedly slow about loading, there's a noticeable lag between requesting a view and actually getting it. The wired Blink cameras are a bit faster, but not all that much.
If I can remember, I'll post a clip. I'm looking into actual CCTV type cameras, basically surveillance cams, but all of them are likely to be wired.Oh thanks! I considered that one
Oh that would be great thanks!!If I can remember, I'll post a clip. I'm looking into actual CCTV type cameras, basically surveillance cams, but all of them are likely to be wired.
