3 Chicks Sick with Different Symptoms- Please Help!

Also, now that I am pretty sure the CX was attacked by a rat, do you think she's safe for consumption? I have heard different answers from different people that I've talked to. I don't know what to do because I'd hate to have her go to waste.

Others may disagree with me here--but I think you have time to make the decision. You've got about 4 weeks until processing time. If she's going to get sick you'll like see it before then.

My vet just said the same exact thing so I think that is what we are going to go with.

I checked over my Bantam Cochin more thoroughly earlier today. I could tell that the left knee cap seemed more swollen than the right. Then I turned her over and moved her feathers around and looke all over her leg. On the inside of her left knee cap there is a scab that is fairly big in size compared to her little leg. I feel so dumb for rushing while I looked over her yesterday- I guess I was a little panicked -and I didn't see the wound because her leg feathers are so thick. But I am elated that I don't have to worry about the possibility of Mareks anymore. Hopefully a little more time in isolation and TLC will get her feeling better in no time!

I can speak a little about your Faverolles. I have 2 and they are the slowest growing of my birds. They look like chicks still compared to the others of the same age. They are at the bottom of the pecking order so they don't get as much food as the others. I always make sure they get feed away from the others. Check your SF in the eve to be sure her crop is full so you know shes getting enough to eat. The yawning motion chickens do to readjust their crop. YOu can take a look in her mouth and down her throat to make sure nothing is there.
