3 day old chicks... UPDATE - Replacements DEAD TOO!!

The way the peeps fall asleep at the drop of a hat is hysterical. The first time I thought for sure something bad happened . Now when they take dust baths I can't believe they could be alive and lay like that without being hurt or dead.

I am getting a replacement order for the chicks I lost... can I put 3 day old chicks in with 10 day old ones?

Just got my replacement shipment from Ideal... out of 15 chicks NINE are dead or dying (they won't make it, they're gasping) and only 6 will survive, which are the packing peanuts... they are all EEs and that's fine, but not the point.

Not gonna be ordering again thru the mail, I can say that! Gotta figure out a different way to get the ones I want, and now, that's gonna wait til next summer.

Save up for an incubator or pray one of this years is a pullet and goes broody for you next spring?

Yup, I'm done with that hatchery and ordering for right now. Gonna raise up what we have and wait til next summer.
