3 day old muscovy duckling

And then there were 2!!! Both came from chocolate hens, both fathered by my blue drake (thought he was silver)

I still have one more chocolate hen on her nest also fathered by the same drake. Maybe there will be 3!?!

Wow, they're beautiful! :love Please continue posting pictures as they grow, would love to see how they end up looking as adults!

Thank you!
I will for sure! I have only found a couple of people who have had similar ducklings but havent found any other information. It will be an exciting learning and viewing adventure.

Ok, here are a couple pics of my duckings, I believe there are some muscovies in there. I don't have any muscovy drakes, just 2 hens. My males are Rouen and a Buff. Can anyone confirm any muscovies? I know the dark ones are not.

Tacswa,
Great looking ducklings!

The Muscovy cross ducklings will be a cross called "mules". Not a great name but it means they will be wonderful ducks but will not be likely to be able to reproduce. It's the same as a mule, a cross between a horse and a donkey. Wonderful animals but very very few can reproduce.

Very interesting! I did not know this. I initially rescued the muscovies hoping one was a male. That wasn't the case. So the hens free range with my other ducks, including the other domestic males.

Can the "mule" ducks lay eggs?

Yes, they can lay eggs. The eggs just can't turn into ducklings. I have a Muscovy mule. She lays eggs all the time.
