When should I notify them? The hatchery says 1-3 days should I wait one more day and see? Last time I ordered from them they came the day after shipping, so I'm kind of worried.

I would go ahead and call them today-just to make sure they shipped them when they said they did

me tooo... i exxpected them to be here yesterday but they aren't here yet. i guess i should call the post office?

meee toooo!!! I expected mine today as they shipped Monday (confirmed with the hatchery) but they should be here tomorrow. Called my Post office this morning and no chickies yet. Hoping they will be ok.

I'm in the same situation- I confirmed that my chickens shipped on Monday with delivery date being yesterday or today. My husband works at the post office distribution center and has been on the lookout for them, but no chickens yet- he called me after they packed the trucks up this a.m. to let me know that unless they come in on a special delivery, no chickens for me today. Boo. I'm worried too.

I would call them. I had a similar situation once where I thought my chicks were to arrive on a certain date. I called the PO over and over all day that day and nothing. The next day I was really worried and just about drove the PO nuts. Finally I called the hatchery because I was sure by the third day where ever they were they were starting to die. Boy did I feel so silly. I called the hatchery and they said I must have read my invoice wrong because they were not due for another month. Sure enough when I checked my invoice again, I had the day right but I misread the number of the month. I swear I looked at that paper over and over and still misread it. Good Luck and hopefully it is just something simple like that.

I called, the lady said they were shipped out monday and should be there 1-3 days and thats all she had to say. I guess I'll just wait

the weather is fairly nice so they might be ok.
Good luck everyone!

For those of you that are into your third day "in transit" time, I'd strongly recommend you open the container right at the PO counter and verify the condition of the chicks. Second, I'd recommend you take drinking water for them with you to pick them up, suitably fortified with electrolytes and vitamins with sugar, and food and let them drink and chow down in your warmed car right away. Three days is right at the outer limit for chick survival without eating or drinking, precautions will pay off I think.
