Well, Bearded Chick....thanks to you and the already set thermostat, it was right on! I watched things for about 3 hours and the temps and humidity were right on...boy did I get lucky!...the eggs went in at 2:00 CST!!

Come on chickies, grow grow grow

The ice chest I got is actually like MissPrissys, but a larger size up. I could easily incubate 4 dozen eggs in this giant thing. It's all I could find...either teeny tiny or the one i got.

Photos will be on our blog later Sunday...gotta get some sleep now.

That's funny! I hadn't even thought about it working like that. I had NIGHTMARES calibrating it because my thermometer was off, and finally just replaced both items with more expensive digital stuff.

Glad that one is working well for you!

My thermometers/humidity are digital.

My problem is, since the cooler is so large, I'm going to have to install a 2nd light and thermostat if I want to hatch more than a dozen or two at a time.....someday maybe lol

All you need is a second light wired in, no second thermostat. I might still have a wiring diagram for that if it would help.

I wired my big incubator to have two bulbs in it, mounted on opposite sides. There's one way to wire it where if one bulb goes out - they both go out. I think it's called wired in series.

If they are wired in parallel, one bulb can go out and the other light stays on. That's how I wired mine.
