So how are the eggs doing?

So far, so good. Tonight I am going to candle the 2 that are "torpedo" shaped. I can't for sure tell which end is which. That way I'll know I have them in the carton the correct way. Otherwise, I won't candle the rest until day 12.

Anxious....but trying so hard to be patient. But heck, it's already past the 1/2 way mark on day 3...so it's going pretty quickly so far. I definitely think having eggs incubating around the holidays helps the anxiety. Other things to keep my mind busy ;-)

Funny you should ask!

I have had such issues with thems, but finally got them stable and where they should be on Thursday.

I candled 5 this am and only one was clear. One of the 2 silkie-feathered green eggers that Lisa sent...was candling and showing my 7yo dd and as she left the utility room, she pushed the door into me and I dropped the egg

Now, there's only one of those eggs and the 11 Frizzles.

I'm so excited!!!

I'm guessing that I will have NewYears babies now, since I didn't get the temps right until Thursday

Cool - sounds like things are going well.

You might get some medical latex gloves (or non latex if you have allergies) and use those when you hold the eggs. It gives much better grip on the eggs. I used them for my candling today and was really pleased at how much easier it was to handle the eggs, plus I figure it has to be a little cleaner.

Couldn't stand it! Candled all of them and have signs of life in them all except the ones from 11/29 and some of the 11/30 ones.

My having to tweek temps probably cost me a few chicks, but that's ok. It's all set now and I won't touch it.
