3 month old chicken with droop wings and can't raise head. Is it (can't raise head) because...

Update on ck with drooped wings and unable to lift head. I have checked with 6 feed stores in a 30 mile radius and only one feed store had corrid but it was the cattle and swine strength, not the poultry strength and they would not recommend it. This morning when I woke up she still could not raise head (appeared to be from wk'ness not mercks) I started back with the syringe filled with a grool of vitamins, duramycin-10 and ck feed and just as yesterday, started force feed her a syringe full about every 30 mins to an hour. As the day wore on, I noticed that she was beginning to fight with me about force feeding her which was a good side she was getting stronger. Now she is holding her head up and eating by herself and even having some really solid poop. So hopefully, she is getting better. Thanks for all the good advice. I think I am going to order some poultry strength Corrid just to have on hand for the future.

I guess someone should have told you that one normally gets it from the cattle section. As far as I know, it comes in two forms, powder and liquid, both for cattle, but used "off label" in poultry.

The guy at the feed store told me it comes in two different strength also. One strength for cattle and swine and another strength for poultry. Do you or anyone else know what amount to add to a gallon of water? Cattle or poultry strength.

I had a silkie chick(6werks) that was acting like this plus a limp ( sign of mareks, I know).. 3 days of little movement giving vitamins, electrolytes and yogurt.. 3rd night seemed 95% back to normal (no limp) and I was very relieved.. The next night it was weak again, still eating, the next morning it was dead :( so keep an eye on your chick Afew days after to be sure it really is better.. I think the course of what happened to my chick was to quick to be mareks, but who knows.. Good luck!

I use the 9.6% liquid and add 9.5cc's to one US gallon.

Coccidiosis kills very quick, but so does dehydration. Often I have noticed that part of the dying process includes a period of time where there they seem to improve, but are dead in 24 hours. Not sure why this is, just something that I noticed. If you google "throes of death", you'll find similar info there.
