What should we do? Our flock just showed up thru last year, but someone has to be looking for these three beautiful birds - right? I posted on the local media sites to see if anyone was missing any 'Big Birds'. Nothing. Didn't want someone to see Peacocks and just claim them.

Any guesses as to age and sex? They scared our babies!! Broody momma took her 6 week old babies to the run. Our 3 almost layers were cowering in a corner shaking like a leaf. The three Peas were just hungry and eating. They hung out between our yard and the neighbors most of the day.

Very pretty birds.

Oh pretty! 3 females. I don't think the males lose their tail feathers this time of year... prime mating season. :)

When I was young, a male peacock flew in to live at our farm for a year or so. He hung out with the chickens during the day and roosted very high up in the trees at night. He was beautiful. We'd hear his call... HALLLP!
Turns out he belonged up the road a ways, and eventually returned there, probably looking for a girlfriend.

Maybe you can get them to hang around. Be a shame if something happened to them.

So these are all girls? Any guess at age? They are new and interesting to me. The neighbors chickens did not seem to be afraid of them. He has three broody hens, each with babies and a flock of mixed breed chocks - forgot the ducks...

These three are able to hop over the 6' chain link with ease. They spent the day helping themselves in both yards. Neighbors birds did not seem to care - ours were terrified and ran for shelter.

I didn't see them this morning - maybe they found their way home.

We had a different Peafowl visitor this morning. A male I am assuming? He had LONG tail feathers that he had to drag behind him as he walked down the road. Camera shy I guess. What a great picture it would have been :(

He was alone, but they sure do scare our chickens!
Cool. Wonder if he is tracking them somehow, or are you just on a peafowl trail way?
Was he the classic blue color? Like this

Courting the girls! Look just like the females you saw.
