Three of my white/ black shoulder peachicks are not doing well. Wings are drooping. They sit with their eyes closed or their heads tucked under a wing too much during the day. I've been out of town taking care of my Mom. My DH didn't realize they were sick. Thought they weren't resting well at night.
I sprayed them down to get rid of any external parasites. I'm thinking of giving them a round of Sulmet, but don't know if that is wise. I don't think they are having respiratory problems. I don't hear anything. Would Sulmet help Coccidia? No blood in the poop though. If I use Sulmet, how much do I put in a one-gallon waterer?
I've read a couple of other recent threads on sick peachicks. I don't have any Corid, but perhaps I could get some. Would that be better than Sulmet?
WHERE do mites and lice come from?? We had hay bales in the mother's pen to outline her nesting area and loose hay in the nesting area. I was wondering if mites and lice eggs are IN hay and/or wheat straw and/or shavings. I HATE mites and lice. They seem to seek out the very young, the very old, and the infirm.
I've got Nutri-drench in their water and am feeding them boiled egg yolks along with gamebird chick starter and grower.
