Can't jump in on the gender game because I haven't any experience with those breeds, but I just had to comment on Ginger - what an interesting little bird! Love the face, the eye color, the build. I thought about purchasing some Shamo eggs this spring but I was concerned that I wouldn't have time to get the proper housing set up. I'd love to see pics as (s)he matures!

Shamo's eyes are beautiful! Are they really bluish and are there other chickens that have blue eyes?

Peggy looks really girly to me.

I have no idea on Ginger, but watch her as she feathers in and if she is a he I would guess you will start getting red or black in the wing-bows and chest instead of girl colors.

If you had another Silkie about the same age as Matilda you could compare the combs. It seems like the boys are wider than the girls at the same age. I think they are really hard to sex.
