I bought 25 chicks from Murray McMurray. They're really healthy and bright, I honestly couldn't be happier with them. They are my first batch of chicks, but I've done well at State Poultry judging contest so I have experience and a bit of knowledge, I'm no expert, and this stumped me. In the next week, they need to be moved out of the brooder into a 12X12 Horse stall. The barn is halfway insulated, but gets to mid to low 30's at night. During the day it's about 60. We use shredded paper as bedding due to my horse's pine allergy. It's very warm, but I'm still worried about them. If I cut down the stall to 1/3 or so of it's size, and bed it deep will they keep warm? They don't use the heat lamp barely any right now and seem happy.
