3 Week old chick trying to take a Dust Bath in Brooder

Hi Everyone! I just got home from work and one of my 3 week old chicks is desperately trying to give herself a dust bath (at least I assume this is what she's trying to do) in her brooder. My brooder is just a dog kennel with shavings and I really don't have the room to give her a dust bath in there. Is she ok without for another few weeks until I move them outside into the coop and run?

Yeah, they'll try to dust bathe with anything wether or not it works

Do you have the room in the brooder to add a shallow pan of wood ash & peat moss? The chicks would love it!

Yes, all you need is a soup bowl with some sand or dry dirt or even wheat bran. Dirt bathing is instinctive and natural to even the tiniest chicks and brings them great joy and contentment.
