my chicks are almost 3 weeks old, 3 of them look like the same breed but one is way smaller than the other two. I thought she was a runt but is it possible she’s a bantam? I also don’t know their sexes but if anyone would like to take a guess lol. My two bigger black ones I’m wondering if they could be cockerels just based on their attitude they rule the brooder. The other 3 I feel pretty confident they are pullets but I could be completely wrong.

I think it is just a smaller breed, like gold Campine, maybe, and not a bantam. There is a considerable difference in size between large fowl breeds.

The chick in picture three, facing the camera, is the only one I can see that is looking like a cockerel at this point. It has a large pea comb for its size.

x2. Right now I have a CCL chick and a Cuckoo Maran's. The size difference at the same age is substantial. It's just how those breeds are. I've also had a runt CCL but it was clear because compared to 2 other same age CCL's she was much smaller (point is I think the only way to know if you have real runt sitch is to have same breed.) Sounds like you don't know the breeds? Can you ask where you go them from. They're really cute!!

I have a large fowl Orpington in with my d’uccle that is 3 weeks older and my Orpington is now bigger than the d’uccle so I would say either runt or just a smaller built chicken.

My son’s kindergarten class did an egg cycle hatch. Somehow we got talked into taking them lol. We’ve always wanted chickens but never been brave enough to follow through.
