I know this is a long shot as she’s only 3 weeks old, but this one particular chick is developing far more quickly than her sisters (also OE’s). They are all from Cackle Hatchery, and one of their crosses is a cream legbar rooster over a welsummer hen. Do you think this is a little cockerel?!? Or could she just be a different cross from her sisters (they look alike aside from the comb & legs). Thanks in advance!

Hmmm...this is tough! I want to say pullet because while there is comb development it's not really red, but, seems like a lot of comb development for a pullet! I also see some wattles peeking out. Hopefully someone more helpful than me comes along!

Thanks! I agree with your assessment; and being mixed breed, I assume traits will present differently on each :flgirl:fl!

Well good luck to you! I had some OE of my own unintended breeding (sneaky little hen!) and boy did they lay wonderful olive eggs!

I'm sorry but I think it's a cockerel. At only 3 weeks it's too much comb development for a pullet

    Not an obvious cockerel yet.

The hatchery said the coloring suggests female but the comb is leaning male! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see :fl

I'd guess cockerel based on that picture. Best of luck.
