31 weeks old and still no egg

I believe one of mine is 30 weeks, the other 32. The temperatures have been hovering around the upper 20's to mid 40's. Days are very short, and overcast, so not much sunlight. Not concerned, they'll start laying when they are ready.

33 weeks old, first egg today. Yay! This is from the wry tailed girl; she has a severe wry tail, so we were concerned that there could be some inner pressure that could lead to egg binding, but she did fine.

The little one is hers, the big one, for comparison, is from a 1-1/2 year old hen.

We have three nest boxes; two have plastic eggs, which is supposed to serve as a hint/reminder where to lay eggs. She laid in the third next box, the one without an egg. She's been watching the big girls intently, learning from them, and she knew what to do.

Congrats on the egg!! I only have 1 Wellie that it laying right now so I am getting an egg every other day if I am lucky. My SS are taking their own sweet time getting back to laying after their molt. and My EE is now 35wks 4 days and still no egg. But I have caught her coming out of the coop and I checked the nest and its warm, and she was the only one in the coop. SO I am hoping she is getting close.

Woo hoo, finally! My gold laced bantam cochin pullets just started laying this weekend at 32 weeks old. I think that at least 3 of the 4 of them are laying. Hopefully soon the d'Uccle pullets will be laying as well. They are 4 weeks younger than the Cochins.

My youngest Columbian Wyandotte pullet started laying last week; 9 months old. It's been a cold winter, short days, no supplemental lighting, I didn't worry about it, let her take her time.
