I am sooo not ready for it! I don't think summer really came this year... the tomatoes just aren't ripening, lots of green ones out there waiting. I wanted to can vine ripened tomatoes but they're still all green! And right now it's 32F with frost... (sigh) Hope the covers help in the garden.

I feel your pain. We never got summer here in western Washington either. I think all I have harvested is a couple of zucchini, and a few potato. I think I have one very small pumpkin. It has been a real pain in the toot.

We got a brutal cold beginning of the year. After February, it was summerlike weather. Now it's back to winter. Where'd SPRING and FALL go?

Quote:have you tried cutting off the leaves on the tomato plants, it helps to ripen the fruits! It's getting cold in the UK too! My 1st year with hens, hope they will be ok!

I agree summer never really showed this year. We froze last for spring on June 29th and started again end of august. No garden for me this year.
