Nice to meet you. I've always wanted an EE, but I do have silkies! I have 2 silkies (One blue, one buff/blue), a silkie cross (the one in the picture), 3 RSL's, and 1 BSL.

i was please with my last hatching results, i tried 9 times to get chicks all failed, i had baught 3 sets of online eggs and all infertile. This year, i just said if it dosen't work this time im threw with broodies, so i asked on face book for some hatching eggs and this woman offered me 3 welsummer eggs and 3 maran eggs for 9 pound including postage, i also stole some buff orpington eggs from a primrary school (there was 3) anyways i had one good broody (sweet annie the orpington on the photos) and Melow who was useless. I give Melow 9 of my own egg which i ddint think would hatch a week before the orpington got hers. then The orp got 6 baught eggs off the woman and the 3 i stole and none of Melows hatched but she kept on sitting then a week later on the orps hatch day i picked her up and there was chick there (it was a baught egg one). I then listened to the other eggs and i could hear a chick peeping to me out of a stolen egg so i give it to Melow. Then the next day i went back and the chick has fell out the nest and the mother went with it and left the eggs cold for god knows how long. So i went and checked on Melow and she had a chick so that night i went up and put Melow in the shed with the orp and they both accepted each other chick and know the orp is the main mam and Melow just comes and goes when she want, shes never with them really just time to time. Oh and incase yous are wondering i cracked the other eggs open and the other 2 cuckoo maran eggs were fertile, 1 had a fully grown chick in, the other had one that looked like it dies on day 15, i cracked the 3 welsummers open and there was 1 fully grown chick, the other two were infertile, i then cracked the other 2 stolen eggs open, one was infertile and the other had a fully grown chick with a scissor beak. Why did the chick have to fall out the nest!!!, next year i will jsut put the orp and hatched chicks on a nest on the floor and move the eggs with her. But if quite a few chicks have hatched i will just give the remaining eggs to a failed broody hen. OMG i can't believe i just typed all this!!You should!
I actually just bought some eggs from a lady in Georgia. The shipping was so rough that the air cells were broken.If you buy eggs hat are shipped you need to make sure they are well cushioned, but your always taking a risk.
