No, I did not heat them back up again. By the time I found them they were about a day an half without heat. We turned the heat of downstairs last night at 7:30 and went upstairs. The eggs had been in a very cold unheated office and were icy cold to the touch. I did not want to know what kind of problems they would hatch with after that. Had it been summer and they were a reasonable room temperature, then yes I would have. These were frigid. I candled them and there was no sign of life. Sorry if that seems cruel but I used my best judgement. I do not think there was any way that any of these eggs would hatch and I wasn't willing to let them go rotten.

I'm going to try and get my calendar photo and most colorful photo here in a bit. I just need to figure out who the most colorful is.

Sorry about those with hatch problems. Why not give the Valentine's Day Hatch a try? (Just to make sure things are working correctly for the Easter Hatch

Valentine's Day Hatch

I candled again last night, damage from the 106f temp spike wasn't as bad as expected, I must have caught it just after it happened. Only had to toss a couple of eggs including one dark brown egg I'd been suspicious of for a while but couldn't see in well enough. Last night it failed the sniff test so out it went!

If I remember rightly I still have around 38 eggs left between the two 'bators. I could have put them in the turner at this point but with only three days till lockdown I don't think I'll bother. I will shift the ones from the main 'bator into the hatcher though so all the NYD eggs are together.

It seems a little weird to have the two 'bators running and no chicks popping currently as the crazy staggered stolen broody eggs have finally finished hatching. My Christmas chicks are out too. Time for some serious scrubbing of the main 'bator.
How exciting, less than a week till more fuzzy butts!

I haven't candled again since day 10 or so but I have been peeking in each day to check for weepers and incubator snafus. 25 eggs, hope some of them hatch since I have that giant ecoglow set up. Too bad it's too late to get more chicks, or I'd buy a dozen or so to go with them since I went to all the trouble to be prepared for all those chickies!
