Oh, that sounds like a great incubator! What brand and model, etc is it? And how cold does it get there where you are, in your shed, I mean? I had troubles with my styrofoam ones out in my sheds but they have done well when in the house which I keep at 70 degrees or so when the incubators are going. anyway, I'd like to know about your incubator --can you keep us posted on it and how steady it stays over the next 3 weeks? Hatching is SO fun, but such suspense for 3 weeks, ha!!!

Wow, apparently my hens have skills I didn't know about. DH said when he checked on the broody some of the marked eggs were in other nest boxes. Anyone want to tell me how in the blue thunder chickens, who - as far as I know - DON'T have opposable thumbs, moved marked eggs from one nest box to another? They are 3 feet off the ground.

This is an old picture but I couldn't find a more recent one in my uploaded photos. This is when it was just built, but there are 7 or 8 buckets across the row with a 1 X 4 roost in front for them to jump up on to go in and out of the boxes.

I want video surveillance! I want to know which one is talented enough to move eggs from one bucket to another. Surely there's a reality show out there to cash in on these kinds of crazy skills

Now keep in mind that I have my MBA and work as a financial planner so numbers are my thing...

But according to my math, there are 95 eggs being set... You really should have just added another 5 to make it an even 100 Mahonri!!

Apparently they can tuck 'em under their wings.... I remember reading about this in the egglaying section... It's amazing what these goofy girls will do when the hormones get 'em going. lol!

Stephanie (we have the same name! that doesn't happen to me all that often...) I love your 'bator! is it a refrigerator that you have converted?? I really like the way it looks. How well does it work?

Your boys have a very good life! I was home-schooled and I am so happy I was. I was able to work at my own pace and follow my interests. When I have kids I'll happily home-school.
