Get sick for 2 days... then, can't return until I have a full hour of time to dedicate to catching up on this crazy hatch!!! 12 pages, with 25 posts a page...

9Catsz... wonderful pictures! I'm not one to decorate, so I'm stumped on how to pose my little birdie without the props.

I can't believe we have 3,416 eggs going! Extreme hatching!!

Since I was sick, I didn't notice my incubator was running cold. I think it went 2 or 3 days at about 95 or 96 degrees. Maybe I'll candle tomorrow to see what's going on. That will be day 5, yes?

... and then there were 25... in my bator. while fussing over the temp with my new spot check, I noticed that one of my tetris eggs on top had a crack... no doubt it hit the side of the bator while turning. so I pulled it and decided to see if I could see any progress inside the eggs. BIG MISTAKE. Very rotten, just not too stinky yet... threw that one in the garbage and then did a kitchen clean up.

My brinsea Octogon 20 advance Ex runs between .6 to a full degree lower than it says on the panel. I've got it at 99.5 now right at mid-egg level.

Got knee surgery that did not do well yesterday. I came out in EXTREME pain. I've tried almost everything. Can't sleep more than 10 minutes at a time until it wakes me. I've been blowing violent chunks, so needless to say I'm not getting much in the way of nutrition.

then DW calls while on her way to Utah, about an hour south of Panguitch, she hit an Elk. She's OK, Pilot will need repairs.

Oh joy.... always something.

Mahonri, I noticed the temperature difference with my Brinsea between what the panel is saying and what it is at the top of the eggs. I think the plastic vent that keeps the chicks from touching the fan effects how the warm air circulates. Good thing is that once you get the temp right, you won't have to mess with it again. Very glad to hear that your DW did not get hurt when she struck the elk. So sorry to hear that you are not feeling well.

Hopefully today will be better for you.
