How do you cross to get splash Marans?

Blue x blue or blue x splash or splash x splash. The Blue x Blue usually make the best splash. The Splash x Splash can result in washed out looking splash.

The 3rd Annual Rocky Mountain Chickenstock will be held on Saturday May 3rd 2014 in Idaho Falls Idaho. "The last two years have been a huge success with over 300 in attendance each year. We gave away more than 200 chicks to 4H kids, had classes on poultry showing and keeping, and had a great time meeting fellow BYCers face to face and making more chicken friends.. Last year we added a show and had breeders bring chicks of various ages for sale. We also had t-shirts made..

The website is www.rockymountainchickenstock.com and I will also update information on this thread. Come and show off your favorite chook (maybe even win something) or buy some new birds from one of our great breeders to raise for next year!!

Plan now to attend and visit beautiful Eastern Idaho this Spring!!

Are there any flyers we can print out? I'd be happy to post flyers at my local feed stores, etc. Also.....is it okay to have a FREE drawing at the show? I was thinking of donating some things to promote enthusiasm for the event. We had a raffle the first year and I know we can't do that anymore.....but what about FREE?

Does anyone happen to have any silkies they will have at this event for purchase... My daughter lost her 4-H bird on Saturday due to a raccoon and she's pretty upset about it... Let me know... Thanks!

Hey Michelle, Tammy will probably end up with some splash marans chicks... She has blue & splash birds... I can't remember her handle.. Luvblubirds maybe?? She just joined the Facebook thread, too..

Hope you all don't mind the pic... I'm excited about my wheaten marans egg color that I'm getting & wanted to share... They start going in the bator next week!!
