Hi everyone!

I also posted on the faverolles thread, but hoping to cast a wider net here.

We got a hatchery salmon faverolles 3 weeks ago, she is supposed to be 4.5 weeks old by now. We love her, she's so funny!! Can anyone tell her sex by now? I've looked through a lot of posts here and I feel like she still has a chance of going either way, but I hope some of you can weigh in. We can't keep any roosters :(

thanks for the link!

It doesn't have feathers in the middle of the chest yet but they're coming in sort of along the sides, you can see those are part black part brown in the last two pictures. I'm hoping that doesn't count as "solid black" and I can hold out hope for a while longer.

I have one light colored hen and one that came in more of a mahogany color. I questioned her for a long time too.

@Chickassan raises faverolle. She can tell earlier than I can. Maybe she will have a look.

Hi friends! it's been almost a week since my last post and our chickens are 5 weeks old today. I feel like our faverolles gets more feathers every day so I took some more pictures! I'm actually now a little more hopeful that she's a pullet since she still has no strongly colored black feathers or red comb ... yet. but she's feathering soooo slowly for 5 weeks old still. Hoping one of the experienced faverolles people I've seen on the forum like @Chickassan or @keesmom or @Gray Farms could have a look, but really appreciate guesses from anyone!

Ahhhhhh thank you for responding with your expertise! appreciate it and glad to hear you think it could be a pullet :)

six and a half weeks old now... I think you were right, she is starting to look like a (very very hatchery quality) pullet! :yesss:

chest feathers started out looking a little black but as they came in as a lighter color with black spots, and her leg feathers look pretty light!
