Hi,
I had 2 old females that I had to keep separated from the main flock as the males were selecting them for mating and ignoring the younger females. (Probably because they could run faster). The 2 old girls were fine together, but 2 weeks ago one died. Rather than leave the other on her own I moved another female in with her, but it didn't go well. Have tried another, although no aggro they were keeping well away from each other.
My question, would it be better to put her in a cage with in the enclosure so that she is in company but protected from the males, or leave her where she is?
At 4 1/2 years old she hasn't got long.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

She will be happier if she is with others. I would keep the one without aggression in with her. Keeping her cage in the enclosure is also a decent option.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I've gone with keeping her in a cage but in the enclosure with the others. As she is now wobbly on her legs, she can she and hear the others without being knocked about by the younger ones when they scurry about and the males can't get at her.
See how she gets on.
Thanks.
