2 Australorp x French Cuckoo Marans. 1 Blue Cuckoo with feathered legs, one Black Cuckoo with clean legs.

Red-band was clearly blue as a chick, but matured so very dark a blue that it's hard to tell that he's not black. When breeding blues the darker shades are generally favored.

As a chick, Purple-band was clearly black. Presently he's the same color as his FCM mother.

1 Blue Crossbreed, probably Australorp x Orpington x SLW. I thought that Captain was pure Blue Australorp until he developed the gold epaulets on his shoulders. He's the earliest-maturing of the batch and undisputed leader.

Good luck! I saw a gorgeous GLW cockerel on craigslist by me and I was sooo tempted, but I think we really need to wait and try to get our hands on another Australorp or Welsummer, or I would try Black French Marans. Sigh. I wish I were closer, I would totally take the Australorp. :(
