4 birds left out of 12. Now im really sick myself..getting worried!

these chickens have been out with my older ones for about a month or more now. I am in the city with city water and There hasn't been anything sprayed on my land. my animals are on the back of property away from any other houses and the road. I do have a creek that runs through my field that only runs when it rains or in the spring, it could be something in the creek water from the run off. I had to go lay down because i could not stop the feeling of being sick. right now i feel a little dizzy almost nervous like. Still have stomach pains. I got up to try to feed the animals. I need to go across town to feed my horses. I do not have any health insurance. I am going to wait and see if i feel better it might just be 24 hour bug.

Your chickens being so sick, and then you getting sick....I worry about salmonella... which you can give to your chickens, and they can give to you.
Have you visited anyone else's coop? Wonder if you could bring it home from the horse barn....

this warning from the govt...
Q. What are the symptoms of salmonellosis?
A. Although in some people salmonellosis could asymptomatic, most people experience diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 8 to 72 hours after the contaminated food was eaten. Additional symptoms may be chills, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Symptoms usually disappear within 4 to 7 days. Many people with salmonellosis recover without treatment and may never see a doctor. However, Salmonella infections can be life-threatening especially for infants and young children, pregnant women and their unborn babies, and older adults, who are at a higher risk for foodborne illness, as are people with weakened immune systems (such as those with HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, and transplant patients).

Make sure you drink plenty of liquids, with a few calories to keep you strong, like gator-aide , flat sprite, or even chicken broth and eat crackers to help with stomach acids...

I feel a lot better now so hopefully it was just the heat or something. I fed the chickens at 7:30 and everybody was active and eating. i got home about 9:00 and one of my buffs had passed away. now they aren't showing any symptoms at all, they are fine one minute and then dead the next. I just dont get it.

I feel completely fine this morning. must have just been the heat and stress that got to me. I still have the 4 hens this morning that were alive when i went to bed. they seem to be OK. but so did the last 3 that passed away.
