4 dogs attacked my flock killed 40 of my ducks/hens and a beautiful red silver laced Wyandotte rooster

Laying hens should go for more like $20 to $25/hen depending on the breed. My dental tech told me two days ago she paid $75/ea for some kind of Brahmas, don't know if that included shipping.

You need to call the police then, send a notarized letter of demand via certified mail (if your areas laws comply) because even if your birds are worth $10 each, that's more than enough for small claims in most places.
I did and she claims she’s broke and it’s not her fault. The cops were no help and I’m going to see a lawyer on what I could do. I was distraught and devastated, my little boys were so sad. This was their first flock they raised.

So sorry for your loss. I would try to build a predator proof coop and large run, but the dogs may continue to be a problem if they are still around. A game camera would be helpful to capture them on your property. It might be better to start out smaller at first.
