4 dogs attacked my flock killed 40 of my ducks/hens and a beautiful red silver laced Wyandotte rooster

Electric fence. Strong enough to knock the socks off a horse. Several lines starting at knee high to a dog, a foot apart and going up to about 6'. A foot away from the chicken fencing so they can't get near the chickens. Then bait it with cheese, chicken fat, and bits of bacon. Film it. I may be evil, but I'd bet it will be effective.

That is such a great idea 😁

I’m asking for help to rebuild. The dogs owner is refusing to admit fault. I just want to put this past me and if y’all have any fertile eggs you can donate I’d appreciate it. 💔
It would help it you could tell something about where you live (not exact address, but at least what country, and if you're in a big country like the USA or Canada tell what state/province you're in).

It's easier for anyone to donate eggs if they are close, so the eggs don't have to be shipped. And you'll probably get a better hatch rate, too.

You're getting a lot of good advice about looking into the laws in your area. Definitely continue to document everything and prioritize your family's safety (because a dog that would go after a flock could as easily go after a child).

Seeing this through in terms of legal charges and getting compensated could be emotionally exhausting, so be kind to yourself and don't get burned out by it all.

call the police, if there is any camera footage/ withnesses that is powerful stuff im guessing you file a report or sue if you sue id reccomend $3-5000 for living and costs of them and more for emotional damages. you should defenitely file a police report though as loose dogs is illegal in other peoples propeerty without permission in australia at least probs whereever you are if not in australia

I did and she claims she’s broke and it’s not her fault. The cops were no help and I’m going to see a lawyer on what I could do. I was distraught and devastated, my little boys were so sad. This was their first flock they raised.
also it is MOST CERTAINLY her fault, if she cannot keep her dogs contained they need to be sent to a shelter where they can be properly cared for. if she is broke she cannot feed them and they need proper care.

It was predator proof from the bottom. And it had shade sails from the top. These dogs climbed a 7ft chain link fence and then climbed an 6ft chain link fence into the duck pens at night. Then they broke WOODEN boards in and crushed the the wire mesh. It looked like they broke everything with hammers. It looked like a tornado hit. It was pit bulls and a German shepherd
JESUS they are some strong dogs.... if you own a gun and they come on your property again, i hate to say this but if this is illegal in your state it gives you the right to shoot them, trap them or call animal control to take them away or give them to a shelter.
