4 ducks 1 egg a day ??

Muscovies are huge ducks! And usually lay large eggs. The drakes can be 15+ pounds. Ducks are closer to 10.

The silver one and the larger chocolate one are drakes. The other two are ducks. My boys are big!

Omgoodness they are beautiful ! Yes big boys !

I can't even imagine how you keep them safe! I've lived in FL and every time I went into the yard there was a snake. I hate snakes!

I assume you're referring to me. If not this is how it works for me.

I rarely see snakes, just every once in a while in the summer. It's the night time predators that have gotten my birds. It's actually really safe during the day! I've never lost any of my flock to a daytime attack. I recently decided to free-range my flock for this reason.

I live in Florida too and have same experience. My ducks free range on 2.5 acres fenced with large clean aerated pond fed with artesian well. The night preditors are numerous. A secure duck house by dusk is imperative!

Regarding laying , I have 2 Saxony, 1 Pekin, and 1 Khaki / Swedish mix ducks that lay in their duck house every day by sun up since they were 7-8 months old. Another Rouen mix just started laying soft shelled eggs over two weeks ago.
Not sure why - the others never did this. She eats same layer feed and forages heavily ( Florida is big heaven ).
She’s never laced a hard shelled egg. What’s wrong?

I think I will see them this summer . I am always killing snakes even on our driveway front door porch so I will have to keep preparing for summer time

What does laced mean ?

With my muscovys it has varied. I have 4 females and in a week and a half I had 1 nest with 36 eggs in it. I dont know who laid what but my Alice went broody and has been on them for 2 weeks now. A few days ago I got another nest starting and there's 4 in that one so far. This is our first year and I believe it's our ducks first year laying too.
