I have alot of eggs in my incubator and so far 4 (they all seam like they are from the same hen) have pipped from the small end.The other eggs are pipping from the right end,I have never had this happen in this large number.
I am helping the first one to zip,its takeing a long time as I don't want it to bleed to death and want to make sure it has absorbed the yolk.
Anyone ever have more then one from the same hatch pip at the wrong end?
Im nots sure what I did to cause this or what would cause this.....

I had a duckling on Sunday to pip on the wrong end & she went through a blood vessel, too. She ended up hatching out the next morning. She was weak at first from the blood loss, but now she's doing great. I'm not entirely sure why it happened, but someone had posted this link the next day: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/aa204 On down the page there's a little section about chicks being malpositioned with the causes for it.

Good luck with yours
