Anyway...that's th old coop..we built just for temporary summer safety

Now the old blue shed is in place and we have a cute tunnel going from the old coop to the new run...and another tunnel going to the opening in the shed door..were going to fence around the shed and take down the old coop

A bit of a confusing situation going on in the egg department....I have 2 barred rock hens...22 weeks...got them on the same day..I assumed they were born at the same time...one seemed to mature quicker...a bit bigger...ones comb and wattle got red much sooner...probably 3 weeks later the second ones got red...then around 21 weeks I got the first egg...not sure which one it was..also got 2 yolks with no shell in that time...saw both chickens in the nest boxes...still not sure which was laying...in that time I got 4 eggs ..about one each day..for the next 3 days.....then one day got 2 eggs in the same day! Yay both chickens are laying...phew..no worries....Then the next day only one egg....now for the past 4 days back to only one a day..and it appears the smaller one that matured later has been in the nest box...so whether she's the one laying or she's just trying and not having success I don't know...also found another messy bit in one of the nest boxes....any ideas?

Shellless eggs are normal for new layers they take a couple weeks to get everything figured out.
