4 new flock members, battery hens from California egg laying operation

Just a quick update. Moved the new girls into my flock after the 2 week quarentine. Put them in the coop at dusk once everyone was roosting. The next day monitored closely. Had one of my older hens start to bully the new girls. Pulled her for a 4 day time out and she has now accepted the new girls. First night had to put them in the hen house, second night two went in on their own and put two in. Third night was the same by the 4th night all were roosting inside on their own. All are laying in nesting boxes from first day. On third day let the flock free range after keeping them in the hen yard and all returned with the flock. For the most part are easy keepers. Two are still hoovering around the food bin most of the time two are hanging with the flock. One is quite the adventurer out first and wandering independently. These girls are laying well and very easy to manage. Not surprised ex battery hens are so popular in the UK as they are just delightful. Hope the more ex battery hens get a chance to be part of a free ranging flock as they certainly deserve it. The integration instructions worked out well and can't imagine it being easier.
