4 Polish...gender?

I was on the fence as well but yesterday I really studied Charlie. Charlie really doesn't look much different now, a month later. There are no wattles and no visible comb. The hackle and saddle feathers are not pointed and the tail is short compared to Freddy's. I am leaning more towards Charlie being a pullet. The crest is just ODD!

I have a Polish like that. She kept me guessing until AFTER she laid an egg. I thought she was a boy even when she laid her first egg.

LOL I think it will take an egg before I'm totally convinced. I have yet to hear Charlie crow.

Let's see if I can figure out the new way to post pics. You can't tell in these pics, but Charlie still has a mohawk crest, not a pouf.

I think you are correct. She's just....odd. She fits right in.

Well...Charlie laid an egg! Mystery solved.

I read that polish chickens lay white eggs. Have a peek see at Charlie's egg:



Charlie's egg is the small one. The larger one is from one of my Delaware hens. (I have a couple Delaware hens that lay a darker egg.) Notice the speckles on Charlie's egg. Not expected!
The WC polish hens have yet to lay an egg. I can't wait!
