Fast update so far on shipping live birds:

Notice: The USPS has updated the rules and regulations for mailing all birds thru Express Mail in Environmentally-Secure, filtered containers to now include chickens. Horizon has been producing USPS approved Environmentally-Secure, filtered containers for birds since 1990, and has been producing chicken shippers without filters, aka PetPorts, since 1997.

The only thing that has changed is that they now all must include the filters.

Still looking.... Will update with more info....

I always figure about an hour south of Buffalo on the 219, but it's possible to make it here in about 40 min. lol

Update on shipping:

No doubt about it, shipping live birds well IS EXPENSIVE.

But I did find that it's possible to ship them via air for about $149 (continental). Gotta call to confirm this and find what taxes, facility fees, fuel surcharge fees, etc., etc. are added on).

Also, USPS can ship ExpressMail (say 20lb pkg) for about 69.00 plus cost of the box.

Keep in mind, these are estimates, but it's a lot. No wonder so many say pick up only.

Yelp. It is probley better to just go ahead and say pickup only. Because of the cost and all the headache that goes along with shipping.
