4 week old Pekin Duckling

I have a four week old Pekin duckling I am trying to rehab. He’s been on nutritional yeast and b complex since 11/8. He’s still not able to walk well. Took him to the vet today and was told he has bowed legs and there is no cure for that. I’m not settling for that diagnosis. Does anyone have any success with helping their duck come back from this? He swims 2 times daily goes outside for about 20 minutes two times a day. I have a hobble on him now will that help with the bowed legs or should I just come to the realization he’s handicapped? Thanks for any advice!

There is a possibility that it is not reversible. Niacin deficiencies can prevent proper development of the bones. Depending on the severity it is possible it will never be reversed. I am not say that is the case for certain, but it is something you may want to prepare for the possibility. But niacin deficiencies can also take a while to correct as well, so I wouldn't give up either.

I got some B complex from Walmart (liquid) it states 1mg has 20 mg of niacin in it. I’ve been giving him 1mg in the morning and 1mg at night.

To treat a niacin deficiency at that age, it is recommended to give 100mg of niacin a day.
The easiest way to do that is to use high vitamin b complex from tractor supply. You give them 1ml a day.

You can either administer it orally with a syringe, or some people like to put it over a tasty snack. If you do the snack, make sure it is something the duck will eat everything of.
