4 Week old Silver Laced Wyandotte, Rooster?

I am not sure if it a rooster or not, but I have a cochin that started crowing at 3 weeks.

Darn thing would even crow back at me if I crowed to it.

Your chick looks like a couple I have that I am not sure what they are...but I also bought 3 SLW from a feed store (trustworthy), here are my 2 pics of the separate chicks....



this is one of 3 SLW I have....all pullets in my opinion, this pic is about 5 weeks.



And this one....looks similar to yours....but I am not sure what it is, it came from a backyard hatchery...it looked like an australorp when it was a newbie chick. This chick and 2 others like it, have barely any combs...even at almost 9 weeks...just a slight blackish/red bump...and slowly getting reddening on the sides.

I am guessing yours is a pullet. Can you post a few more pics?

how many chickens do you have? its usually 1 roo to 10 hens...I have tried more, and it worked fine for a while, then slowly the dominant one took over, and I had to rehome the 2nd roo, and I had 18 hens....so it depends on your flock dynamics etc.

I try to encourage follow ups for future readers by bringing dead posts back to life. I feel like it’s hard for me to find status updates on a lot of things. Like, what was the outcome? I became so invested in this post and then... nothing.
